All of our home alarm systems come standard with pet friendly motions. So a pet up to 35 pounds will not be detected. But it's always a good idea that when you get an alarm system to let your pet run around in front of the motions to make sure they aren't detected. Even when your home alarm system isn't armed, the motion will still have a small red light show when it sees motion.

Because all businesses have different needs, SafeGuard will set up an appointment with one of our representatives to determine your needs. All estimates are free.

Every home alarm system from SafeGuard comes with a backup battery already installed. This means that during power outages the alarm system will automatically switch to the backup battery. The battery will keep your home alarm system powered for up to 24 hours, depending on how much you use the system during this time. After the main power of your home comes back on, the alarm system will begin recharging the backup battery until it is at full power again. During this time the alarm system will report that the battery is low until fully charged.

The on-going development of new technologies offers today’s consumers a wide range of new communications services, which are generically called Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or Digital Phone services. These services are provided by cable companies, telecommunications companies and, in some cases, independent providers that rely on the Internet connections that are already present in the home. While all these technologies provide a form of telephone service, there may be differences in their range of features and reliability.

A motion detector may activate falsely due to installation of the device above a heater or furnace. Movement of objects such as balloons, blinds, and curtains within the range of a motion detector may also trigger the alarm. The motion detector may require relocation or adjustment by a SafeGuard technician.

Each cities alarm regulations are different, some cities require you to get an alarm permit for your home alarm system and some don't. The alarm system may be armed in the "Away" or "Stay" mode. Once the system is activated, each monitored zone has the ability to recognize a violation. Once a zone has been violated, the alarm system then dials SafeGuard and transmits the message through a telephone or cellular line. Once the signal is received, the alarm system will wait to send another message if another zone is tripped. Entering the code and turning off the system will end this process.  View User Manuals.

No. Your system is an independent unit and can only be turned off by an authorized user.

SafeGuard smoke detectors do not chirp; they communicate directly with our Central Monitoring Station. If yours is chirping, the most common cause is that you have a simple battery-powered (usually 9-volt) smoke detector in need of a fresh battery. User manuals are available on our website.

An alarm panel will normally display "no ac" when the system has lost electrical current. The outlet should be checked to verify that it is operational. If the outlet is working properly a service call will be needed. User manuals are available on our website.

Your keypad is informing you that the alarm system is not ready to turn on (arm). Common reasons for this are that a door or window is not completely closed, a motion detector may be sensing movement, or a previous alarm has not been cleared out of the memory. Correct the condition and the alarm system will be ready to arm. User manuals are available on our website.
